Alanna is a Registered Psychologist who earned her Masters of Counselling at the University of Lethbridge. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Services from Trinity Western University. Alanna believes it is her privilege to walk alongside individuals as they pursue growth and change in their lives. Alanna's work is built on her belief that every person holds an inherent worth and dignity that should be respected and honored. Alanna's background is in the non-profit field, working with a variety of marginalized populations.
As a therapist, Alanna utilizes a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). She works from a client centered and strengths-based approach. Alanna also utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help individuals in the reprocessing of traumatic events. In addition, she has extra training in perinatal mental health. She is passionate about connection and authentic relationships and values a sincere, empathetic, and honest therapeutic relationship.
Alanna works with individuals over 14 years of age and with couples. She primarily works in the areas of relationship concerns, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, attachment concerns, and post and perinatal mental health.
