Alycia believes in using an integrative approach to therapy, as each client’s needs are unique and different. She uses a culturally sensitive lens to welcome anyone into her practice. Alycia feels privileged to walk with people through their healing journey, providing compassion and understanding. Alycia has professional experience working in school systems and in private practice. She has special interests in working with individuals and couples, struggling with trauma, transgenerational trauma, neurodiversity, grief and loss, pre/postpartum, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and difficulties with childhood attachment.
Alycia draws from various modalities such as attachment, psychodynamic, somatic, and mindfulness. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gottman Method Couple Therapy. Alycia also provides psychoeducational assessments to evaluate academic, behavioural, and cognitive skills for children and adolescents.
Alycia incorporates her two core values of courage and connection into her therapeutic practice. It takes courage to show up in therapy, and to allow your vulnerable and authentic self to be seen. A connection between therapist and client is important to Alycia, as she believes this connection is the foundation upon which sharing is possible. Alycia’s goal is to listen while the therapeutic connection is created in a safe therapeutic space.
