Jacqueline is a Mental Health Therapist who earned her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work, specializing in Mental Health. Jacqueline has additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) for Couples, and Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT).
Jacqueline believes unconditional acceptance and a sense of safety and belonging are the foundational aspects of healing and personal growth. She strives to offer this to her clients through a therapeutic style that is warm, genuine, compassionate, and collaborative. Jacqueline’s approach to counselling practice is client-centred, strength-based, and flexible. This involves drawing from various therapeutic modalities specifically chosen to meet her client's unique needs and goals.
Before transitioning into psychology, Jacqueline practiced as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in the human services industry for nearly 20 years, supporting high-risk youth and families. She continues to be passionate about working with teens and young adults, particularly those struggling with anxiety and depression.
Jacqueline has a special interest in working with parent-teen conflict, marital separation and divorce, blended family issues, and interpersonal abuse and violence. She is dedicated to assisting clients aged 12 and up to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and reconnect with strengths within themselves that they may have forgotten.
